Hotel ]
Awagarh Estate, Mallital, Nainital, Uttaranchal, India

The Palace Belvedere, Nainatal, Uttaranchal,
India
Belvedere
once the summer palace of the erstwhile Rajas of Awagarh
- is reminiscent of the bygone days of the 'Raj Era',
built nearly a century ago by Raja Balwant Singh OBE,
CIE of Awagarh in the year 1897.
It
is picturesquely set amongst the scenic beauty of the
famous hill station, Nainital in Kumaon.
The
Hotel affords a panoramic view of the famous Naini Lake
- which finds mention in the 'Skanda Puranas' as a place
of meditation of the Three Rishis ( Tririshi Sarovar ).
The
salubrious and invigorating climate delights the visitors
in all seasons, with its kaleidoscope of colour and beauty.
The hotel, though situated in close proximity to the town,
is surrounded by sprawling gardens - a befitting setting
for the regal facade.
Now
completely renovated and refurbished, this stately colonial
mansion still retains its unique, original and highly
distinctive character, and is now run as a resort under
the personal supervision of the present royal family.
